WATKINS GLEN
Located on the southern tip of Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen is known as America's Home to Auto Racing with the first road races held on the village streets in 1948 and then moved to the current track in 1956 where it was home to the US Grand Prix from 1961 to 1980. Since it opened in 1863 Watkins Glen gorge has drawn millions of visitors and is one of the premier gorge hikes in the US.
